Community Solar brings clean, renewable and local solar energy to any power customer — no sunny roof required. Community Solar farms let participants in a community to share the benefits of a solar array. It is a great way to “go solar” for those who cannot install panels themselves, but still want to cut their carbon footprint and save on their electric bill.

Maine is poised to add 400 MW of solar power from community solar plants in the state, reducing fossil-fuel energy production while building the Green Energy Economy in Maine (and helping Mainers save money on their electricity bill).

Our community-first approach in Maine develops partnerships with local nonprofits to spread the word about how community solar can give residential customers access to local and renewable energy at a cost lower than they currently pay — and helps local nonprofits and associations raise money for their critical work.
